Stephen Casey

Senior Academic Advisor

Mr. Stephen Casey, senior academic advisor, takes the lead on providing academic advising for all undergraduate students in mining engineering. The department also assigns faculty advisors to each student to offer career advice based on your area of interest within mining engineering. Students who need academic advising should stop by 230 McNutt Hall to initiate discussions with Mr. Casey.

Grad Track Pathway

The grad track pathway in mining and explosives engineering offers motivated undergraduate engineering students a means to complete the requirements for their respective BS degrees and MS degrees in mining or explosives engineering at an accelerated pace to further improve their career prospects. All engineering students can apply for the grad track pathway in explosives engineering. The benefits of this program include:

  1.  Students may transfer up to nine credit hours of 5000-level or 6000-level engineering undergraduate courses towards their MS degree (thesis or non-thesis).
  2. Graduate courses students take for grad track pathway will be assessed the undergraduate tuition rates.
  1. Be currently enrolled in a BS engineering program at Missouri S&T
  2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  3. Be one year away from graduation (excluding the semester the student is currently enrolled)
  4. Have a minimum 3.5 GPA in the engineering courses in their major
